Introducing The Gulfstream G550 Jet — The Ultimate Private Business Jet

August 11th, 2010

Everybody remotely involved with private planes will have heard of Gulfstream, but what exactly places the Gulfstream G550 apart from its contenders, and why does the Gulfstream G550 make an ideal business jet for anyone who chooses to travel privately?

Making use of private jets has many plus points, for example, having the ability to fly in the highest luxury, right through to having the possibility to still attend that important seminar being held in a different nation.

To numerous renowned business-people and worldwide companies, private plane is a necessary piece of industry life, with the high costs connected with using an executive jet made up for by the efficiency saving abilities, allowing companies to do business internationally.

Following the growing use of the G550 from Gulfstream, customers are able to take advantage of its elongated interior, long-distance capacity and the greater comfort levels.

The Gulfstream G550 is powered by two Rolls-Royce turbofan engines, a flight range of 6,750 miles (nautical) at Mach 0.80 and a top speed cruise ability of mach 0.87. The G550’s far-reaching flight-range ensures that it’s capable to carry out trans atlantic flights without a problem, increasing a passenger’s capacity to worldwide, whilst the Gulfstream G550’s larger interior gives it the capability to accommodate 14 passengers in unrivalled comfort and opulence.

For most businesswomen, travelling on a G550 from Gulfstream is out of the question, but by utilising fractional ownership, the possibility of flying on these remarkable private jets has become much more likely.

Fractional aircraft ownership is a new system set up in the mid 90s to allow customers of business jets a larger selection of jets, yet still minimising the overall expense of private flying. Find the best plane for sale by searching online.

By not buying a plane but rather joining a membership plan with a fractional aircraft ownership organisation, clients aren’t faced with the additional expenses of the plane’s upkeep, paying a totally experienced pilot crew and all of the other costs that is coupled with operating an executive jet.

As well as reducing your spend on jet maintenance and crew fees, associates of a fractional aircraft membership are able to choose a private jet from a range of aircraft, depending on the flight length and type required by the passenger. At the end of the day, the G550 is able to carry up to 14 passengers; but you may not always need all of that passenger room. By using a smaller private aircraft, significantly less fuel is used, so a journey will not be as expensive and dramatically more considerate to the environment.

Critical Computer Enhancements

June 30th, 2010

The buying of a brand new Personal computer is an significant decision in this hugely wired, technological era of ours. Even before you’ve even gotten it home and out of the box, something newer and swifter has struck the market. It makes sense to do a bit of planning and get a system that will remain useful and suitable with regard to your personal demands for at least a few years. In addition to the correct care and routine maintenance, updates exist that will increase the lifetime of your system. These include upgrading the CPU, memory, graphics card and more.

The first and most vital upgrade for any PC is Random Access Memory. Nothing boosts functionality like putting in all the RAM that the computer can handle. Just be mindful that 32-bit operating systems can just address 4 GB of memory, so if you want to go above that you’ll need to turn to a 64-bit platform. Another easy up grade is the Graphics Card. They’re a breeze to add as they simply plug into any PCI Express slot on the motherboard and can drastically increase media and graphics rendering.

In addition, changing the original hard drive to something quicker with more space is a usually a great idea as hard drives or HDDs are fairly low-cost these days. Set up guides with all the essential devices to upgrade are readily available via a wide range of vendors such as Seagate, Western Digital and OCZ. Although much more expensive than traditional disk drives, solid state drives have the benefits of using less power, being less noisy and better, as well as being more shock proof. While you’re playing with the hard drive, you might also contemplate grabbing a Blu-ray player for media. They’re not that costly and can be had for £100 or so.

If you have made the decision to upgrade to a new, more potent graphics card, a second monitor is the best way to exploit the extra rendering potential. Two screens support more successful multitasking and productiveness and give you a lot more room to work. Like almost every other component, monitors are becoming more of a bargain every day and a decently specced screen shouldn’t run more than £150.

Last but not least, the ultimate upgrade of any personal computer is motherboards and the CPU. This is usually the best course of action for aged hardware that’s really beginning to show it’s age. Today’s CPUs from AMD and Intel are very simple to change out and the speed enhancements are absolutely worth it.

Photographing Kids

June 17th, 2010

Kids grow up so quickly and while we are often left with countless memories, most parents have only a drawer packed with school photos, blurry holiday snaps and the forced grin of the inevitable yearly birthday picture to account for the years gone by. It’s time to stop bemoaning the latest photograph of your thumb obscuring your adorable baby and get on with improving your skills as a photographer.

Why should you bother when the near-by mall has a perfectly good photo studio, you ask? Photographing children poses specific challenges but yields numerous rewards. While it can be frustrating when you miss that spontaneous moment, it is also highly satisfying when you manage to capture the joy in their faces as they dance in the summer’s first sun shower. Capturing the day-to-day moments will provide a treasure trove of memories that you will cherish forever. As well, your own images take on a more personal feel and a more meaningful connection, something that can never be achieved in a generic mall photography studio.

Follow these easy steps and immediately improve your snaps of the kids.

Making The Unusual Usual

Friends with children often say to me “My child always pulls faces for the camera and I can’t get a picture without little Johnny sticking his tongue out and crossing his eyes.” Kids –and many adults as well– are prone to hamming it up for the camera, however, they will be more natural if the camera is a part of their everyday life instead of brought out once or twice a year. By making it a regular part of their lives, it will increase the comfort level and encourage portraits that are more natural. Try bringing out the camera once or twice a week and focusing it on your kids. They will become accustomed to having it around and it will give you a chance to practice your technique, too. And, if they still clown around for the camera, get into the swing of things and enjoy it. Little monkey faces are a part of childhood!

Kids’ Eye View

As adults, we look one another in the eye and photograph our friends at eye level. Do the same for your children. Bend down on one knee or sit on the floor to get a picture that reflects a child’s perspective. To add a little excitement, have fun playing with perspective by shooting the image from the ground up. Lie down on the ground and taking a picture from that viewpoint. Suddenly toddlers become giants and we can witness the world as they see it, by looking up.

Patience, Patience!

Small children have a limit of two or three minutes before they become bored with Mummy or Daddy’s photo session. The urge to run off and play becomes just too much! Don’t force kids to stay in one place for long, unless you like pictures of sullen little faces. If you are taking a formal portraiture-style photo be sure to plan ahead for the best possible results. Check your batteries, make sure there is film in the camera and if you are using a digital camera see that there is space on the memory card. Provide your toddler or small child with a prop, like a ball or a favorite toy to help create a more natural expression, instead of the one that says, “Just hurry up and take my picture, Mom!” Keep it fun and stress-free.

Fill The Frame

Because backgrounds can sometimes be distracting, do not be afraid to move in closer and take a picture of your angel’s face. It creates drama and interest in the photograph and eliminates extra clutter. Unless you are taking a travel photo or an image of the child engaged in a particular activity, feel free to emphasize the most important element of the picture- your child. Use the zoom or macro tool on the camera to get in closer. Pictures of your little one’s hands or feet can also be interesting studies, and one day you may find yourself saying, “I can’t believe they were so tiny!”

Just A Little Off-Centre

Many professional photographers use “The Rule Of Thirds” approach which means that they mentally divide the frame into three sections both vertically and horizontally –like a tic-tac-toe grid– and place the subject of the photo at one of these intersecting points. It helps to create a more dynamic photograph, than one where the subject is smack-dab in the middle. Take note that if your camera is an auto-focus model, you may have to focus first on your subject and then, with the shutter button still half-pressed, recompose the image.

Natural Light Rules!

One of the tricks of the trade in photography is to use morning or late afternoon light. The sunlight at this time is wonderful and helps to produce pictures that are bathed in warmth. Direct light flatters the subject and adds to a more intimate and natural-looking photograph. It also helps to greatly reduce the bane of every parent photographer- red eye!

Experiment with taking advantage of the sunlight pouring through a window, or march the kids outside on a sunny day and photograph them while they are playing tag. To have a well-lit photograph make sure the light is behind you, shining on the subject. To create drama, try using side light for impressive shading. If you try to take a photo with the sunlight behind your children, a technique known as “backlighting”, you will end up with the subject looking like a dark silhouette.

The Last Word

It really is all about fun. View the time you are taking to photograph your children as time to share in their adventures and imaginary play. A frustrated mom directing kids to a more picturesque location and insisting on a smile does not reflect kids’ reality. Pick up the camera only when everyone is relaxed and happy. Finally, don’t expect every photo to be a masterpiece. The truth is that only a few images from each roll are frame-worthy, but the important thing is to keep snapping away to capture the moments that depict their ever-changing lives, in all its unique glory!

D©j Vu, All Over Again (and again…)

June 16th, 2010

During every correction, I encourage investors to avoid the destructive inertia that results from trying to determine: “How low can we go?” and/or “How long will this last?” Investors who add to their portfolios during downturns invariably experience higher values during the next advance. Yes, Virginia, just as certainly as there is a Santa Claus, there is another market advance in our future.

Corrections are part of the normal “shock market” menu, and can be brought about by either bad news or good news. (Yes, that’s what I meant to say.) Investors always over-analyze when prices are weak and lose their common sense when prices are high, thus perpetuating the “buy high, sell low” Wall Street line dance. Waiting for the perfect moment to jump into a falling market is as foolish a strategy as taking losses on investment grade companies and holding cash.

Repetition is good for the brain’s CPU, so forgive me for reinforcing what I’ve said in the face of every correction since 1979… if you don’t love corrections (and deal with them like visiting relatives) you really don’t understand the financial markets. Don’t be insulted, it seems as though very few financial professionals want you to see it this way and, in fact, Institutional Wall Street loves it when individual investors panic in the face of uncertainty. Psstt… uncertainty is the regulation playing field for investors, and hindsight isn’t welcome in the stadium.

A closer examination of the news that’s fit to print (but isn’t printed often enough) should make you more confident about the years ahead, whatever your politics.

The good news is very, very good: 1. Employment, jobs, and unemployment numbers are as good or better than they have been in years. 2. Manufacturing numbers are stronger and trending upward. 3. The “core” inflation rate is historically low. 4. Interest rates are also historically low. 5. Durable goods orders are trending upward. 6. Corporate earnings reports have been strong. 7. Corporate dividend payouts have been increasing. 8. Equities, as an Asset Class, are considered the most fairly valued, when compared with Real Estate, Fixed Income, and Commodities. 9. Income Tax Rates are at low historical levels, particularly with regard to investment income. 10. Gross domestic product is growing.

The bad news isn’t all that bad, pretty much the same ole stuff: 1. Hurricane Damage. We’ve actually had fewer major storms than anticipated. The ones we’ve had were devastating, but the rebuilding/preparation task ahead will be good for the economy. 2. War in Iraq. There’s always been a war of some kind, somewhere. It’s bad, but only the battlefield has changed… and war has also always been good for the economy. 3. Politics. We have an unpopular President who can’t seem to get out of his own way. Who were the last ones that were loved? Didn’t they have wars? 4. Wall Street/Corporate scandals. Hardly new and never economy busters. 5. Energy prices. I still don’t see gas lines, and maybe somebody will push for added refining capacity. 6. Trade deficits. News would be giving foreigners more money so that they could buy more of our products. 7. High consumer debt. New? Not. 8. The terrorism threat. A major serious problem for the past how many years? The federal regulatory agencies probably do more damage to the economy. 9. The Avian Flu pandemic? Maybe, but not yet, and we’ll really need those bad boy drug companies then, won’t we? 10. The Anniston/Pitt break up, and neither the Yankees nor the Bosox in the World Series. Now we’re talking!

Clearly, there are no new (economic) problems to be overly concerned about. And for now, we simply (and I mean simply) have to deal with the opportunities at hand. Low, but increasing, interest rates force fixed income prices down and yields up… Opportunity One! Economic good news encourages higher rates to reduce inflationary pressures causing equity prices to trend downward… Opportunity Two! These forces of good are intersecting with the dark side of calendar year mentality Wall Street, causing premature tax loss selling and portfolio Window Dressing… Opportunities One and Two squared!

There is an Investment Mindset Solution for the problems that most people have dealing with corrections, and rallies too, for that matter. I’ve never understood why “yard sale prices” here are so scary. What if you cut off a finger each time you get a splinter? Wounds heal, and so do the prices of high quality securities.

In recent years, Wall Street and the media have turned the process of investing into a competitive event of Olympic proportions and stature. What was once a long term (a year is not long term), goal directed activity, has become a series of monthly and quarterly sprints. The direction of the market isn’t nearly as important as the actions we take in anticipation of the next change in direction. Performance evaluation needs to be rethunk (sic) in terms of cycles!

The problems, and the solutions, boil down to focus, understanding, and retraining. It would be impossible to cover each of these issues here, but here are a few teasers. You need to focus on the purposes of the securities in the portfolio. You need to understand and accept the normal behavior of your securities in the face of different environmental conditions. You need to overcome your obsession with calendar period Market Value analysis, and switch to a more manageable asset allocation approach that centers on your portfolio’s Working Capital.

But for now, relax and enjoy this correction. It’s your invitation to the fun and games of the next rally.

Selecting Business Services in the UK

April 24th, 2010

If you happen to head up a large or small corporation within the United Kingdom then it is inescapable that your people shall ultimately really need a bit of exterior help in the form of an additional firm or possibly facility. Depending on the sort of product or maybe service you happen to have need of, this might be an awfully important choice and might well influence how the company might well perform its role and perhaps how clients recognize your service. For this reason your corporation might wish to think about the subsequent issues when choosing a business to appoint.

How many years has the enterprise been in business; it is regularly a decent sign when a firm had been trading for a significant time. This can well be a strong indicator that they are certainly competent at their designated job and that they get repeat contracts. A firm that has only recently started could not have this pedigree.

Is the business acknowledged by the related professional associations? More or less each end every category of organization has some sort of external endorsement, so find out what that constitutes and certainly do not be scared to ask to see verification of this accreditation.

Has the firm been recommended to you by a friend? If this is the case it is decidedly more likely to be high quality than if you happen to merely pulled it from the phone book.

Are the firm near you? Even if the service could be given over the phone it could be heartening to be sure the firm is in the same county as your company. If that is the reality you happen to may more simply coordinate meetings etc. www.icsgroupuk.com can provide a range of services to suit your telemarketing needs.

Is this a one off facility or an ongoing business relationship; if you are planning to use a businesses service for a significant length of time your corporation might be able to bargain a large discount.

Whatever your companies needs for business to business services you happen to can be assured of a top quality service by following the straightforward advice above.

Cover Up Well with Must Have Fashion for Winter This Year

April 21st, 2010

The London weather has cooled, the days are seeming shorter and another bunch of international catwalk shows has landed down on the world’s style and fashion capital cities, from fashion forward New York to trend setting London. Yip, October is absolutely here, and like usual, we have our fingers on the proverbial pulse of designer fashion’s beating diamond encrusted heart. With our choice of English and international fashion designers ranging from the mind-blowing iconic fashion houses (Lanvin, Balenciaga) to the coolest names (Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney) to the trend setting ones to watch (Christopher Kane, Erdem), it’s no wonder the UK elite forever state that they don’t shop designer clothes anywhere other than Matches!

This Autumn season fashion is dramatically structured, and we are forever in love with some of autumn’s fierce statement-making trends. Christopher Kane’s fiercely cool animal printed tees have been grabbed by the designer fashion pack, gracing front rows and the fashion pages of magazines alike. The Kane tops are the undeniable partner to another key fashion trend at the moment – leggings – yup, this is the season to flash those toned limbs, and Freda, Sykes and of course Les Chiffoniers have all designed some mega-sleek, spectacular pairs. For the trend setter in you, there are thigh-high boots – these thigh huggers are the look and trend of the Winter season; beloved fashion designer Stella McCartney’s version are black, dramatic and utterly show-stopping. These bold McCartney boots look set to stay around, and we couldn’t be happier; the Stella boots are a marvellous way to give even the blandest outfit a twinkling dose of on-trend sophistication. Click here for all the latest Balenciaga collection.

Now, this is surely the Autumn season to put your shoulders forward! Bulky, padded shoulders are making an eighties comeback – wonderfully wearable, this is a greatly flattering trend this time around, and we are in love with Julien McDonald’s strikingly beautiful sharp-shouldered dresses.

We say bring on the cold mornings and showering afternoons…the London weather may get cold but with such tremendous outfits to wear this Autumn Winter season, we will make sure you look hotter than in August.

How to Select a Divorce Lawyer

March 24th, 2010

Selecting a divorce lawyer to handle your family law case is a very important decision. The following are a few important criteria to help in finding the right divorce lawyer.

Experience and Focus

Any divorce lawyer you consider should have substantial experience in handling divorce cases in your location. An experienced divorce lawyer will know the tendencies of the various judges in your jurisdiction and should be able to use this knowledge to your advantage. Additionally, that lawyer should practice primarily in the field of divorce law. Often people will hire a lawyer who practices primarily in some other area, thinking that any lawyer will do. However, divorce law is a very specialized field that requires particular skills and experience in order to have a likelihood of reaching a successful conclusion.

Past Client Testimonials

Perhaps the best way to decide which divorce lawyer to use for your divorce case is to find out what former clients have to say about that lawyer. While divorce is never an enjoyable process, some divorce lawyers have more success at satisfying their clients than others. If you do not know someone who has been a client of that particular divorce lawyer, you should consider asking the lawyer for a list of clients that you can contact who can describe their experience with the lawyer. While client confidentiality is important, any good experienced divorce lawyer should have at least a few former clients who are willing to vouch for him or her.

Accessible

When a client becomes dissatisfied with a divorce lawyer, one of the most common complaints is that they were unable to communicate with the lawyer. It is very important that your divorce lawyer be accessible and prompt in responding to your phone calls, emails, and requests for meetings. While you can ask the divorce lawyer about their office policy, this is another area where you can best evaluate the divorce lawyer by hearing what former clients have to say.

If a former client of the lawyer tells you that they found it very difficult to contact the attorney, or that the lawyer either did not return calls or respond to emails or would take several days to do so, you should definitely avoid that lawyer. Divorce is an unpleasant and frustrating process under the best of circumstances. If you are unable to reach your divorce attorney, or at least someone on his or her staff, the frustration level can increase exponentially.

Fees

When you make your initial appointment with the divorce attorney, you should inquire about a consultation fee. Some lawyers do brief initial consultations for free, although most experienced divorce lawyers will charge between $100.00 and $200.00 as a consultation fee, or will charge their normal hourly rate.

For example, I charge a flat $100.00 consultation fee with no additional hourly charges, regardless of the length of the meeting. Essentially, the consultation fee is to “weed out” those people who are not serious about the possibility of hiring me. Given that my normal hourly rate is $200.00/hour and the usual typical consultation takes about 90 minutes, the charge for my consultation is significantly discounted. Therefore, you shouldn’t let a consultation fee scare you away from interviewing a particular lawyer.

During the consultation it is vitally important that you have a candid discussion with the prospective divorce lawyer about fees and what you can expect. Typically, an experienced divorce lawyer will require the payment of a substantial retainer up front, against which that lawyer’s hourly rate and expenses will be charged. You should find out what that lawyer’s hourly rate is, what the up front retainer will be, whether any portion of the retainer is refundable if it is not exhausted, and how often you can expect to receive invoices that detail their hourly charges and expenses. You also will want to know how detailed the invoices are. Once again, this is another area where you can get excellent information from those people who have been clients of that divorce lawyer.

Comfortable

While all the above issues are important, there is one final question you should ask yourself before hiring a divorce lawyer. Are you comfortable with that lawyer and are you confident in his or her abilities? If the answer is anything other than a resounding “yes,” you should keep looking. Your case is too important to entrust to someone who does not inspire your confidence.

How to Cure Acne Naturally

March 24th, 2010

Let’s face it: We mostly judge people on how they look.

This is a fact that cannot be denied and the reason why almost everyone is obsessed with their appearance. This is also why if anyone suffers from acne, they often go to any length to control this image distorting skin disease.

I am saying this from first-hand experience, pimples, commonly known as acne, can literally make you miserable. Imagine having a big bump nestled right on your lower lip with other small bumps crowding your face and all the while you’re talking to someone you keep wondering : ” Is this person looking at the bump…?”

Perhaps you may have tried everything from the popular products advertised on TV, to the over the counter drugs at the local pharmacy. Believe me, I have and NOTHING worked, on the contrary, they made matters worse.

I tried exfoliating, using a mask, applying astringents, creams. My roommate literally had to yell once: “What’s with all this ‘make-up’ like you are a Vegas show-girl?”
It would be an understatement to say my experience with acne was horrible.

I had just about given up hope and decided to accept the myths that maybe just maybe it was in my genes or as my pastor at the time said: “It was God’s will for me…” but, it was right around this time that I stumbled upon an associate whose conversation with me that day forever changed my life-at least in regards to dealing with acne.

He asked what I was using to control the acne and if you are a sufferer, you may know the feeling that arises within when someone brings up the subject of your malady. I got defensive and mentioned the product I was using rather snappily. He kept right on and as if sensing my discomfort, assured me he was only trying to help.

He introduced me to juice fasting as a therapeutic measure of healing (not the religious practice I thought it was) and also discussed facial massaging and how to properly cleanse the face. I was intrigued by these methods for the following reasons

1. They were natural
2. They cost little or nothing
3. They made the most sense

After trying each of the methods simultaneously, within about 3 or 4 days, I was relieved of the acne and even the razor bumps I also had. If felt good to be able to walk into the office and know that the girls were looking at me admirably and it was also a relief to know this horrendous mask was finally taken off me!

Years later after learning more about Naturopathy, Yoga and diet, I decided to dedicate a page on my website to offer this free information on how to cure acne naturally to my readers and am now including some of the tips in this article.

1. If you want to control your acne; you must make a change in your diet now.
This will not only clear up your skin, but will increase your all around health and well-being. A suggested diet will be a mucus-less diet comprising of raw and cooked Fruits, Leafy and Root vegetables augmented with a fast of some type. Remember the quote by Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine: “Let your foods be your medicine as nature heals ALL diseases!”

2. I can boldly say rid yourself of all topical and ingested drugs you are using to control acne as they only- from my experience- make matters worse.

3. Learn how to massage the face. You can type up facial massaging in your favorite search engine or simply view the free instructions and photos on my site. (Thank Goodness for the internet eh…?)

4. Change your pillowcase daily.

5. Steer clear of using microwaves. My anecdote on this device is in the same section mentioned in tip #3.

6. Engage in some form of vigorous exercise. This not only makes you fitter and healthier but aids tip #1 in detoxifying the skin, this being the second most important eliminating organ next to the lungs as stated by Dr. Stanley Burroughs, the author of the Master Cleanser.

In applying these steps above, you will definitely notice a drastic improvement in your skin. You too can cure your acne naturally without drugs and expensive visits to the dermatologists; you only need to be shown how.

If one way is true, it is the way of Nature.
